In 1981, airline pilot Bill Freeman and his wife, Anna, founded a new business in Griffin , Georgia , just south of Atlanta . Bill saw the need for a dependable source of aircraft hardware for the many aviation enthusiasts, aircraft owners, and pilots in the area, and they filled this niche admirably with Freeman’s Hardware.
Bill and Anna have since passed on and the business came home to Tom and Jenny Holt and their family. Along with the new owners came a new name: Freeman's JUST PLANE HARDWARE. The Holts moved Freeman’s to a new facility in Spring 2002, a large commercial hangar at the Griffin/Spalding County Airport (6A2). The Griffin airport has become a hub for general aviation in the southeast and has itself grown tremendously in recent years, with numerous services on the field for pilots and aircraft owners. Last year, further seeking to improve their services, the Holts relocated Freeman’s to a larger custom built facility at their own private grass trip airport near Griffin . Tom has a passion for aviation—and besides being a walking encyclopedia of aircraft hardware, he’s a general aviation pilot and aircraft owner too.
Freeman's has grown over the years with the desire to provide the very best in aircraft hardware for the aviation maintenance professional, the amateur aircraft builder, and the individual aircraft owner. As the company’s resources and facilities grow, you'll find a vast selection of certified aircraft hardware, control cables, and a wide variety of other aircraft components and services. In addition, Freemans now offers the nations premiere quality in aircraft parts cleaning and powder coating. In December 2006, Freemans was selected as the featured hardware contributor for the 2007 AOPA Catch-a-Cardinal project - a real honor in and of itself!
